Colors and Spring Flowers

Spring is my favorite time of year. It's perfect sunshiny weather just before the sauna temps hit Austin and everything turns a lovely shade of brown. Lucky for me, my neighborhood is full of folks with serious green thumbs, so many gorgeous flowers everywhere you turn. I torture Bronco on our walks stopping every other yard to snap a pic of these colorful things.

Red flowers are considered to be vibrant, passionate and demanding to be noticed, red is the color of love and romance. Red flowers symbolize courage, respect, constancy, and admiration.

Orange is bold, passionate and full of life.

Peach Roses are all about appreciation, sincerity, gratitude and modesty.

Yellow flowers burst with happiness. They symbolize the bonds of friendship, the taste of success and pride.

Pink carries with it the connotation of grace and elegance, as well as sweetness and poetic romance. Dark pink is symbolic of gratitude and appreciation, and are a traditional way to say thanks.

Lavender flowers signify youth and elegance, grace and refinement. They have a delicate, feminine and old-fashioned touch to them, even when contained in a decidedly modern bouquet.

White flowers can mean reverence and humility, purity and innocence or sympathy for a bereavement.

Pattern

Oh, how I love me a good pattern, which I'm sure I've told you a few hundred times, and probably going to tell you a few hundred more. Austin has some amazing patterns going on around town, making my heart skip a beat.

This Is Happening!!!

I am so excited to share with y'all what I'll be doing with some of my favorite peeps on June 13th. We'll be stand-up paddle boarding 21 miles for The Flatwater Foundation. Super excited to participate in this years Dam That Cancer event. I highly recommend checking out this non-profit and all the awesomeness they do.

Here's what I want to do for my fundraising efforts. Art work, of course! I will hand draw something similar to the below pictures in either 4x6 ($50 donation), 8x10 ($100 donation) or 11x14 ($150 donation) for you. If I don't have your contact info, please leave in the comment section when donating. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

FYI- the drawing can be similar to one of the four options above. Somehow I can never make the exact drawing twice. You choose type you prefer and size. Super excited to be doing this. Hope you are too! Donation details are below with a few more details on the event.  I appreciate your support so much as do the families battling cancer!

Help me support The Flatwater Foundation by making a donation. Your donation will provide access to mental health care for individuals and families touched by a cancer diagnosis that would otherwise not be able to get the care they need. I am working to raise at least $2,000 to embark on this 21-mile journey to take a stand, won't you please consider sponsoring one of my 21 miles with a donation? This will ensure we meet our goal, and will help so many in need!

The process is fast, easy, and secure. I truly appreciate any support you can provide, and we hope you can celebrate with us all on June 13th, at the LCRA Lawn at Tom Miller Dam (adjacent to Hula Hut). Learn more at tylersdtc.com

If you can’t make a donation at this point, help me reach my goal by sharing this page on Facebook and Twitter. Or, even better, send an e-mail to friends you think might be interested in contributing and include a link to my page!

Thanks so much for your generosity!
